Melinda Karlsson Files Order of Protection

The captain of the Ottawa Senators, Erik Karlsson and his wife Melinda have had a rough year. Melinda has been the victim of online threats, harassment and cyber-bullying. In a peace bond filed back in May, Karlsson alleges that Monika Caryk, fiance to Mike Hoffman (also an Ottawa Senator) posted hundreds of derogatory online messages aimed at her and her husband.

The sworn statement from Melinda Karlsson says, “Monika Caryk has uttered numerous statements wishing my unborn child dead… uttered that she wished I was dead and that someone should ‘take out’ my husband’s legs to ‘end his career.'”

Other hockey wives are speaking up in support of Karlsson;

The storm has been brewing behind the scenes since earlier this spring, adding to the heartache for the Karlsson’s whose son, Axel, was delivered still born March 19th. These allegations went public Tuesday and Hoffman is vehemently denying his wife’s involvement though we have yet to hear directly from Caryk.

Cyber bullying is not okay, it is something Ottawa Police take very seriously. If you or someone you know is the victim of online harassment, tell someone. End the cycle. Wishing the best for the Karlsson’s during this difficult time.

First Look at Tim Burton’s Dumbo

*shivers* Holy cow, this looks amazing.

The film is scheduled for a March 29th, 2019 release. The live-action reboot stars Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito and Eva Green. This is director Tim Burton’s second Disney reboot or third if you consider 2010’s Alice in Wonderland and 2016’s Alice Through the Looking Glass as totally separate entities.

No Johnny Depp? How much do you wanna bet that the role Colin Ferrell’s playing was written with Depp in mind?

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie Settle on Custody

It’s been a messy back and forth for the former flames who share six children together; Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12 and twins Knox and Vivienne, 9. The Superior Court of LA County has completed their investigation and determined that Pitt is a fit father and say it’s “critical that each of them have a healthy and strong relationship” with both parents.

A temporary custody agreement was reached to have the children spending quality time over the summer with Jolie, who’ll be filming Maleficent 2 in London, and Pitt in LA. Looks like Pitt will ‘meet Jolie’ in the middle, literally, for scheduled meetings with the kids that will be chaperoned by a psychologist. He will have physical custody of the younger kids (not Maddox) for four hours a day in London for one week, then travel back to LA with the family for some time in July returning them to Jolie in London by the 29th. It’s pretty much a similar schedule for August, too. Seems a bit exhausting, but whatever works, right?
