Taylor Swift lit up Caesars Superdome on the second night of her Eras Tour in New Orleans on Saturday, Oct. 26, and brought a surprise guest onstage to add to the magic!

During the show’s “surprise songs” segment, Swift, 34, borrowed a phone from the audience and made a call to her friend and former Eras Tour opener, Sabrina Carpenter. In a clip shared on X (formerly Twitter), Swift playfully told the audience they’d need to stay quiet since she was putting Carpenter “on speakerphone.”

When Carpenter picked up, Swift explained she was in the middle of her Eras Tour and had just sung part of Carpenter’s song “Espresso,” with the crowd joining in loudly on every word. “We all love you so much,” Swift added warmly. She then jokingly asked Carpenter why she wasn’t at the show, to which Carpenter responded that she was also in a place full of “people screaming really loud.”

Swift then asked if Carpenter could “come down to the stadium real quick,” asking how long it might take. Carpenter replied with a grin, “It would probably take me like five seconds,” to the crowd’s delight. Moments later, Carpenter appeared onstage in a white dress, greeted by cheers.

The two then teamed up for a surprise mashup, blending Carpenter’s songs “Espresso” and “Please, Please Please” with Swift’s “Is It Over Now?”—a track that shares a playful nod to “Espresso” with its coffee-inspired lyric, “Let’s fast forward to three hundred takeout coffees later.”

Carpenter previously joined Swift as an opening act on various international tour dates, including stops in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Australia, and Singapore, and even shared a memorable onstage duet with Swift in Sydney last February.

Swift’s first New Orleans show on Friday, Oct. 25, was equally star-studded, with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds spotted in matching white outfits in the crowd. Fans also buzzed about a fun moment when Swift appeared to throw a playful nod to boyfriend Travis Kelce by miming a football throw during her performance of “Midnight Rain.”

In the lead-up to Swift’s arrival, New Orleans was brimming with excitement. On Thursday, Oct. 24, the New Orleans Saints’ official Instagram account posted an image of the stadium’s entrance decked out with a giant inflatable friendship bracelet reading “Taylor Swift”—a fitting welcome for the pop icon’s stay.
