On April 6, 2018, the tragic Humboldt Broncos bus crash occurred in Saskatchewan.

Humboldt Broncos defenceman Logan Boulet succumbed to his injuries the following day. In all, 16 people lost their lives and another 13 were injured.

Logan’s parents donated his organs so that six lives could be saved. Hearing that Logan was an organ donor inspired an estimated 150,000 Canadians to sign up to be donors as well. To date, this is the largest number of Canadians registering to become organ donors in Canadian History due to one event. It is often referred to as the The Logan Boulet Effect.

April 7th is Green Shirt Day. This is a day to honour all the victims and families of that fatal crash and to continue Logan’s legacy by inspiring Canadians to talk to their families & register as organ donors.
