Bridgerton is back for its third season, now with Jess Brownell as the showrunner. This time, Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) has finally decided to move on from her long-time crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after overhearing his harsh comments about her last season. She’s now on the lookout for a husband, someone who will give her enough freedom to continue her secret life as Lady Whistledown, away from her overbearing family. But with her confidence at an all-time low, her attempts at finding a match are a total disaster.

Meanwhile, Colin returns from his summer travels with a fresh new look and loads of confidence, only to find that Penelope, who always accepted him for who he was, is now giving him the cold shoulder. Determined to win back her friendship, Colin offers to help Penelope boost her confidence to find a husband this season. However, as his advice starts to pay off, Colin begins to question if his feelings for her are really just platonic.

Adding to the drama, Penelope’s friendship with Eloise (Claudia Jessie) hits a rough patch as Eloise makes an unexpected new friend. Plus, Penelope’s growing influence in society makes it even trickier to keep her Lady Whistledown identity under wraps.
