Back in November, Ginger Spice, Baby Spice, Sporty Spice and Scary Spice aka The Spice Girls announced their UK reunion tour.  Notice anything unusual? Posh Spice is missing! And that’s because Victoria ‘Posh Spice’ Beckham made the decision to not tour with her 90s bandmates because she’s focusing on her clothing line and mother-hood – at least that’s what we thought … until now!

According to Melanie C (Sporty), she says there’s a much ‘deeper-rooted reason’ why Victoria won’t be joining the ladies on tour – and in her words, “Victoria is petrified of performing.”

Mel C explains, “I’m sure, Victoria wouldn’t mind me saying, the Olympics was hard for her. You know, she’s moved on, her life has changed, and she just doesn’t have that love of performing, and in fact, it completely petrifies her.”  In case you were wondering, their London Olympics closing ceremony was The Spice Girls’ last performance – which was back in 2012.

In January, Victoria told The Guardian she felt ‘left out,’ seeing as how she won’t be touring however, she claimed fashion is her ‘main focus.’  Mel C says, “She’s extremely busy and successful in what she’s doing. She has put her heart and soul into her business, and … to step away from that, and … not give it the time that she does at the moment would be difficult.  But also, I’m sure, if she felt passionate about being on stage and loved it, then she’d be there.”

Mel continues, “We’re all very sensitive of that, and we completely understand.  We’re all sad that Victoria won’t be joining us, but it’s all genuinely very supportive you know, obviously understand and support her.”

While chatting with Good Morning America, Victoria explained she’ll always be a Spice Girl and explained how proud she is of The Spice Girls, “I’ll always be a Spice Girl.  And I’m so proud of everything I achieved. I’m proud of them. It’s gonna be the best show. I can’t wait to take my kids and see it. But, you know, with my business now, I just wouldn’t be able to do it… but I wish them so much luck and love and it’s going to be great and, in spirit, I will absolutely be there with them.”
