The highly anticipated Marvel movie “The Black Panther” hasn’t even taken over theatres around the world and it has already scored 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Film critics are all loving the movie! The Hollywood Reporter says “There are vistas, costumes and settings that keep the images popping off the screen, even though this Marvel offering is not in 3D.” Rolling Stone proclaims “an exhilarating triumph on every level”.

Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther alongside Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis and Walking Dead’s very own Danai Gurira who plays Okoye the leader of Wakanda’s security and intelligence outfit. Wow, she is fierce is this movie!! Danai sat down with Roz & Mocha’s Damnit Maurie who starts off by stating to her “Move over Beyonce & Diana Ross! There’s a new fierce woman in town!” after a bit of a laugh Danai says “All I was trying to do was really channel a true woman who is really connected to her people, her nation, her king. To the longevity of her people. And really understood the role she had to play to make her hopes and beliefs a reality” When asked if there is a lot of pressure on her now that she’s a huge female role model she says “All you can do really is hope that what you put out there resinates and it effects people in a positive way”

Things get funny when Damnit Maurie asks Danai if the black panther and the pink panther could have ever been friends… After a laughing she proclaims “I don’t know about that!”.

“Since when was a cat not a mammal?!” was the question Danai asked after being asked if a cat was a mammal once they agreed that it was, Maurie then entertained her with a couple fitting.. Or should we say PURRRfect jokes
