Dear Sam Smith, WE HAVE MISSED YOU!

It has been far too long but it was well worth the wait as Sam Smith has released a brand new, soulful, beauty of a track called, ‘Too Good at Goodbyes’.

On ‘Too Good at Goodbyes’“I’m never gonna let you close to me / Even though you mean the most to me / ‘Cause every time I open up, it hurts / So I’m never gonna get too close to you / Even when I mean the most to you / In case you go and leave me in the dirt.”

Be right back, I’m in my feelings…

If you think that’s rough, the pre-chorus will end you, “Every time you hurt me, the less that I cry / And every time you leave me, the quicker these tears dry / And every time you walk out, the less I love you / Baby, we don’t stand a chance, it’s sad but it’s true.”

Prior to its official release, Sam shared this incredible teaser featuring a choir singing the song’s chorus.

Last week, Sam sent a note to his fans where he thanked them for their patience and promised that new music was on the way “very very very soon”.

Reports indicated that Sam had been working with long time producer Jimmy Napes, whom he collaborated with on, ‘Stay With Me’ and ‘Writing’s on the Wall’.

He also had been posting pictures of himself on Instagram in studio with producers including, Timbaland.

Last year, Sam spoke with Billboard about his forthcoming album saying, “It’s great. It’s really deep (stuff) that’s coming out — that’s all I’ll say. Every day I’m having little epiphanies and changes and loving it. But all I can say is that I’m putting my heart even more out on the line. I’m going even deeper. I can’t believe I’m even doing it, but I’m going even deeper.”

He added, “But I still love my album, but I’m loving my new one (expletive) more.”

In that same interview, he revealed a few more thoughts on 2014’s In The Lonely Hour, “There’s a few songs I really (expletive) hate, but then the core of the album, songs like ‘Stay With Me,’ ‘I’m Not the Only One’ — actually all the songs except ‘Money on My Mind’ — I really love and I’m really proud of the classic-ness of the way they sound, because I still listen to them now and I still love them,” he said. “The music I’m making at the moment, it’s very much a beautiful little transition from there and it fits.”

How do you feel about ‘Too Good at Goodbyes’?

I get the same feeling I had when I first heard ‘Stay With Me’ because you can almost hear and feel the pain in Sam’s haunting voice and it just gives me chills.

Let me know what you think of the record below!
