Things to Do This Long Weekend!

We want to ensure you enjoy your long weekend, so we’ve complied a list of things for you to do this weekend!

2. Cirque Du Soleil – VOLTA (Aug 3-27) – VOLTA is making a pit stop at Zibi in Gatineau (the intersection of Laval and Laurier). VOLTA tells a spellbinding story about the freedom to choose and the thrill of blazing your own trail. Inspired in part by the adventurous spirit that fuels the culture of action sports, the show weaves acrobatics in a visually striking world driven by a stirring melodic score.  For more information on VOLTA click here!

3. Casino Du Lac Leamy – Sound of Light (Aug 5-19) –   Fireworks lovers from here and afar now have the opportunity to gather in the backyard of the Canadian Museum of History.  The Casino du Lac-Leamy Sound of Light is celebrating Canada’s 150. 5 designers from 5 provinces will create unique and amazing displays inspired by our country and our history. 4. Nokia Sunday Bikedays (Now – Sep 3) – The National Capital Commission presents, for its 47^th year, NOKIA Sunday Bikedays in Canada’s Capital Region and invites you to hit the Gatineau Park and Ottawa parkways for NOKIA Sunday Bike Days.  Discover more of the Capital and join in on some fun activities. 5. Capital Ribfest (Aug 3-7) – Enjoy some ribs, chicken or pulled pork at the Capital Ribfest at Ottawa City Hall! There will also be some live music,  beer gardens and much more! More info here!

6. The Glengarry Highland games(Aug 4-5) -There are so many great events at the Games aimed to please any Celtic fan. Some people come for the music, some for the fiddle, some for the dance and others to watch the heavyweight events. Of course, we can’t forget the pipes, the main attraction for many at the Games. Added to these events, the Games provide one of the best outdoor summer concerts at our Friday night Tattoo, and the unforgettable performance of the Massed Bands at Saturday night’s closing. 7. The Bracket Bonanza at Luskville Dragway (Aug 4-6) – The 37th annual Bracket Bonanza is at Luskville Dragway! Canada’s longest running drag race is back. Three big days of racing, fireworks, live music and camping is free! Over 200 drag cars plus jet cars, and Ambush live on Saturday night! More information here!
