This weekend, my son Liam turns 4.

WHICH MEANS: IT’S PARTY TIME, and as dictated by tradition: Ludicrous Cake time.

For his 1st birthday, we went ALL OUT and threw a full-on Henry Hugglemonster party, complete with costumes for mom, dad and Little Liam.   Custom hand-made Henry hugglemoster cupcakes and even a ONE OF A KIND Balloon animal creation…
WHY?

Yes: WE Remember it well. Pics and all.

HE won’t, though. He’ll see the pics, at least.

Fast forward to now:

I’ve made Liam’s cake/cupcakes EVERY YEAR.  It’s something I almost feel I HAVE to do.

This year, I’m not shying away from it either. However: he’s upped the ante.

First year was Henry Hugglemonster: easy ish, tbh.

HENRY HUGGLEMONSTER BALLOON HENRY TOPPER HHUGCUPC HHUGCOST

2nd year: 2 Tier Cars n Construction themed

liam 2nd birthday

3rd year: Multi TIER Paw patrol, that turned into a sliding disaster after an idiotic move on my part… Never brush a cake with pudding, lol.

PPATROL

Wifey made these, actually!

THIS YEAR:

PAWLANDERS TEA PARTY.

No, I have no idea what that is either. It’s a concept he’s dreamed up himself, and is SUPER proud of… so now, I’m saddled with a Cake that somehow combines the elements of Paw Patrol, Skylanders AND a Tea Party (interesting trio, dude. )

The tea party: Easiest part. Found some toy decorations, bam. done.

Paw Patrol part: Also, relatively easy. Gonna be on the massive slab LOWER tier with the #4 Candle and the above toys.

The TOP tier, however:

A Skylanders “PORTAL OF POWER”… Cake.

Thankfully, My good friend Jeff Stoveld, from Top of the Hill Bakery in Orleans has graciously offered to lend me the use of his SPACE and some tools.  Best bakery in the city, hands down.

Pics to come NEXT week, Please: Wish me luck. Definitely need it.
