As soon as you put this album on, you’re going to be taken for a ride.”

That’s what Bruno Mars told Carson Daly about his new album 24K Magic, which serves as the follow up to his 2012 album Unorthodox Jukebox.

Bruno added, “This album is the best album I’ve ever done. Out of all three of them this is the one!”

“It’s very important that the world hears this album in its entirety. On this album, I really focused on giving you one continuous wave.”

You can now enjoy that wave, as the much anticipated album from one of pops most magnetic superstars dropped today, and you can stream it now on Spotify.

Bruno told Ellen DeGeneres during a 2015 interview with Mark Ronson that he was on a mission to make this record better than the last one.

More recently, in an interview with Rolling Stone, Bruno mentioned that he felt a certain pressure to really deliver with this album, coming off the huge success of his Mark Ronson collaboration, ‘Uptown Funk’, “Coming off the biggest song of my career, it was super-daunting to come in here,”

He added, “I don’t know if people are going to love this sh*t. I don’t know if radio is going to play it. But what I don’t want to have happen is I put it out and say, ‘Damn it, if I’d just done this and this, maybe it would have had a shot.’”

Upon listening to the record, it’s clear that that ‘wave’ he speaks of is definitely funk, with some soul.

Also, Bruno just announced an 85-date world tour that will kick off in Belgium on March 28th and will conclude in Los Angeles, where he will perform for four nights, November 7th, 8th, 10th, and 11th.

Bruno released the title track last month and performed the record on a recent episode of Saturday Night Live, which you can see below; he also performed the song, ‘Chunky’.

Back in September, Bruno’s long time bassist Jamareo Artis spoke about the album to Bass Player saying, “We’ve been working on it for about a year, trying different ideas and experimenting…I don’t know what’s going to be included in the final version, but it’s going to have a new sound, and so far the material is very groove-oriented. It’ll be out sometime this year, and then we’ll hit the road again.”

When this album dropped, I assumed we would have a Skrillex feature based on an interview Skrillex did with Billboard back in June, “I’m actually working with Bruno Mars right now…I’m not going to give specifics of what it sounds like, but what we’re doing is so fucking different, awesome and next level and sounds like nothing else that’s happened before. Every time I get in the studio with somebody else and collaborate, that’s when I always have revelations and learn about stuff. And I just love stepping outside of what I know and there’s no other music position that can do that.”

No features? No problem! Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic is an album you’ll likely have on repeat for a very long time.
