Lady Gaga’s long awaited album, Joanne has finally arrived and is available for you to stream now on Spotify.

The album is filled with dance pop anthem, emotional ballads and even a twang of country. Gaga has called it her most personal work yet, and is a revealing glimpse inside the head of the pop superstar.

The title, Joanne refers to Gaga’s aunt who passed away at the age of 19 from Lupus.

Speaking about the title to The Sunday TimesLady Gaga said, “I believe everybody has a Joanne in their life. Everybody has someone they’ve either lost or is a pending loss….In this world, we’re all trying to keep up, put a perfect image out of who we are.”

She added, “I’m not sure I’d go into detail about it, but Joanne gave me strength to live the rest of the life she didn’t get to have…I guess, I think, if I can heal one person, maybe I can heal two, five, ten million. If I could just heal my dad, then maybe [I] might heal someone else”.

Last month, Gaga released the album’s lead single, ‘Perfect Illusion’ and released the accompanying music video later in the month.

During an appearance at iHeartRadio headquarters in New York City, Gaga said this about ‘Perfect Illusion’, “The song is about modern ecstasy. We found our sweet, simple, ragey way of saying it…..I get this sick adrenaline rush every time I heart it.”

Prior to the album’s release, Gaga released two other tracks, ‘Million Reasons’ & ‘A-YO’.

One of the songs off Joanne is a song called ‘Hey Girl’, Gaga’s collaboration with Florence Welch of Florence and The Machine.

She spoke to BBC Radio 1 about working with Florence, “I started to work on an idea for a song that I really wanted to do with a girl. You’ll see why when you see what the song is about.”

She continued, “I just thought, ‘Who do I want to sing with?’ She’s really, to me, if not the best, one of the greatest vocalists in the world. She’s incredible.”

Prior to the album’s release, Gaga spoke with Beats 1’s Zane Lowe in a 40 minute interview about her new album. Check out that interview below.

We’ll likely get to hear music from Joanne when Gaga performs at the 2017 Super Bowl Half Time Show in February. She revealed in an interview with Ryan Seacrest that she believes it was the album that got her the Super Bowl gig, “I think that surprised them, that they love my new record…They not only loved Perfect Illusion and how it would fit in with football season but the album, period and were surprised by it”.

She added, “It was an indication to me that we had done a good thing because what I really wanted to do with this record … I want to bring people together who wouldn’t normally talk to each other or hang out or maybe like each other or understand each other.”
